It is accompanied with truth that “Money” is not “Everything” but it can buy “Most of the Things” what we need. This phenomenon of “Money” makes it mandatory for life. In this particular article I would like to focus on those Students who are very talented, energetic and qualified as well but they are either unemployed/not earning or earning a very little amount of money which is not sufficient for a luxurious life.
There are mainly 2 ways consist of various categories through which we can earn money.
Being an Employee
Being an Employer i.e. own business
Both ways are good and has its own significance under circumstances. It has been observed that in spite of qualification and talent No. of students are finding themselves puzzled. They are not in metal condition to select the best option for him/her for career. In spite of having caliber they can not achieve what they want. They can not be an employee who is in demand or a successful businessman. There are No. of factors work behind it based on circumstances I will discuss about the factors and make efforts for the solutions so that they can move upward in their life with money.
Before suggesting anything I would like tell a story.
Amit Sharma is a very good student since childhood. His father is an employee of a small organization. Their family consists of four persons. Father, Mother, Elder Brother (Handicap), and Amit. When Amit is in 10+2 and his father gets unemployed as the company is declared sick and no payment is made to employees. They do not have any other way of earning. Anyhow with the help of grandfather and maternal uncles Amit completed 10+2 in Science Discipline. He was not much familiar with outside of his circle made of limited No. of friends and relatives. At that period No specific objective had been set by Amit regarding future prospects. He didn’t have the ideas about the Career Courses, Streams, ,and Disciplines through which he can make his career. As per friends, advisors, well-wishers he joined BCA (Bachelor in Computer Applications) Correspondence Course from an esteemed university. Due to financial crisis he was constrained not to go for regular courses. As financially he was not sound he started earning as a private tutor. There was dual responsibility upon Amit (a) To carry on his study (b) To support and manage his family financially. As he was a very good student he obtained very good marks in semester examinations. As he didn’t have computer at home he wouldn’t get much time for practical sessions but anyhow with the help of friends he managed to keep track. In the 6th Semester of BCA there was a mandatory requirement of ‘Project’ submission which was to be done inside company works in a real environment under guidance of Software Developers or IT Champs. Amit falls in a vital situation. If he selects real time environment “Project” he must leave tutorship which will obstruct the only earning way of family. At the other hand if he does not work in a real time environment he can not implement, test and develop whatever he has been taught. Eventually he decided not to go for real time ‘Project’ environment. He followed some other guys and avail a old project from the sources and after some modification he submitted the ‘Project”. Frankly he didn’t have the detailed knowledge about the ‘Project’ and appeared in the “Viva“. Fortunately he has been asked some easy theoretical questions regarding the Software in which the Project was developed. He answered all easily. Actually the faculty who takes the “Viva” was not an expertise of the Software in which Amits “Project” was developed. Thanks to God. Amit again obtain good marks and completed BCA securing 1st Division with almost 70% marks from a reputed university for distance education.
It is expected that a very good student Amit will now be in a multi national IT company and earning lots of Dollars. But it is not the truth. It is just reversed.
He is working in a small private Non IT company on a low insufficient salary. At the present state of affairs He is puzzled What to do? What to not ? Her mother is seriously ill and needs to be operated. As he is not financially sound he is making efforts for the arrangement of fund. Friend, Juniors Other students who are not as good as Amit have settled their career in various streams, even some of them are taught by Amit These things making him restless. Amit is talented, energetic, qualified and retain degree for the sector which is in Boom. But he is very much distressful and afraid of future. Can you tell me Why……………………?
I will explain why??????????
1. Lack of Objective - Earlier Amit was not familiar with outside of his own circle. He was disconnected with outer world with limited No. friends and relatives. He does not have any idea how to be prepared by future. More genuinely he did not set any Objective for him for future and directed as per others advice. But it is not a matter for an intelligent guy. Sometimes it happens specifically in a young age. Life is an ongoing process which always provides opportunities to rectify the errors.
2. No Involvement in a Real Time Project – IT sectors need specialist in your subject. If we are not sound in your application you can not survive. Amits learns No. of application packages such as Visual basic, Oracle, Java, C , C++, D2K, Unix but did not get specialization We know Amit was in a deplorable condition and forced by circumstances to maintain the earnings of the family but to fulfill his BCA course properly he must have completed his ‘Project’ in real time environment at any cost. A real time project would provide him all the nut and bolts to implement, test and develop his skills. It would polish his software development skills and of course most importantly a great confidence which help in future. It would give him identification as a software trainee as well. Unfortunately he was misguided.
3. Lack of Specialization – Be sure about one thing. Without competing you can not survive in this era. You must be a specialist in your subject/concern. It is not mandatory to follow others or copy there. It is true that IT job is high paying job but it does not mean that you can not earn with other career option. If you are sound in skill you can earn more than an IT job. Always opt for what your heart goes. Make your own identification and specialization.
3. Wrong Job Selection - Though Amit was forced by circumstances he must have opted IT job. 10 -12 painful months will lead a bright future with lot of money. He had basic knowledge of programming with sharp mind. Even if he worked for a IT company earlier few months without salary just to learn software developing and gain experience it would benefit him a lot in future.
But All is not over now. Opportunities are still available for Amit. Specifically for guys like Amit I will suggest
Set Your New Target Right Now – From this very day you set a target for you. Forget past and always be positive. Never follow others and remember this is your last opportunity. After an certain age you will not be considered if you are not a specialist in your subject. Use your brain. Know your strength and do whatever you desire.
How to Set Your Target - It is not necessary that you have to make your career in IT (Programming). If you are not feeling comfortable with programming but willing to make your in IT it is OK.” Raaste aur bhi hai”. Be practical. As Computer is an electronic device it will get out of order all the time and without linking one computer to another for information exchange and resource sharing organizations can not survive in this complete edge. So there always will be a demand of Hardware and network engineer. You learn hardware and networking from an expert without leaving your current job. Hardware and Networking both are different disciplines. Later on you can opt whatever you want to be A hardware specialist or A network specialist. But It is accompanied with truth that “without knowing Hardware you can not be a complete network engineer ever”. Warn You Be Sure 100% about your willing”. You are the only person who can judge yourself.
How to Go Ahead - Remember do not invest money with big institutions for certificates. Without sufficient knowledge all certificates will go in vein. Try to find out any relative, friend or genuine persons as tutor who is skilled in hardware and networking and working as a vendor and interested to teach students with nominal fee in his part time. Why “Vendor” (Suggested not Mandatory)? In future he can avail you resources for real time practical and troubleshooting. Fix your classes at night after duty time and try to maintain a good relationship with tutor. Preliminary learn for knowledge not for certificate and implement your knowledge whatever you gained during course. After the completion of course, implement your knowledge practically. Always look for opportunities to polish your hardware and networking skill around your surrounding. Always look to repair a damaged PC or trouble shoot problems of hardware and networking. Sometimes a systems or networks in your company gets trouble, you can handles the things with real time exposures. If a friend, relative or others finds troubles in his PC, you should trouble shoot the same. After few months when you will realize you are well prepared and can handles all sorts of things then go for “MCSE or CCNA” certification”. CCNA (CISCO certified network associate) is more proffered in the field of networking. Be theoretical sound for the preparation of examination/certification. Already you retain a IT degree. It will be a plus point . Once you got the CCNA certification decide what you want to be “A EMPLOYEE” or ”AN EMPLOYER”. In both cases you must ensure sufficient earning. It is not necessary that your must go with IT. There are lots of career options for you still waiting. I will discuss about the opportunities later on.
Increase Your Earning - Look for the opportunities we have right now. Do not give up your efforts to earn money. Believe Money is the root cause of most of the problems exists for the human beings in this world .If you are working in your company for 1-2 years, availing PF, ESI facilities and retain PAN card you can acquire Personal Loan from Banks (Govt./Private). In Govt. banks process is time taking, intricate and needs more documents than private sector but interest rate is low. If you find difficulties with Govt. banks go for private sector banks where process is flexible, need less documents but interest rate is high.
->Now make efforts to establish small business such as Internet café with the help of loan. We can use Café for multiple activities such as courier services, Audio, Video, Image editing, Point for computer printed stationary items such as ID, Marriage cards etc. You can also use the same space for your hardware and networking activities. Financial assistance provides great confidence to take future decision
Another way for earning is to hunt for the job based on your current status with more salary. Concurrently keep working for your specialization whatever it is IT or Non IT.
Once you are trained and certified in your subject / discipline you will find your own way. No guidelines or suggestions will be required for you.
I made an attempt to make technical/non-technical technical graduates that how the earning scenario can be changed. Best of luck all the stars who are willing to up rise from the current level in their life.
